All we have is now, moment to moment, and every second there are choices to be made. Of course, work, paid work, often determines one's seconds which turn to minutes which turn to hours. Teaching, having been my work, takes time, but then suddenly in summer, when I do not work, I face more "free seconds, minutes, hours". Facing those puts me in a spot of wondering how to "spend" my precious seconds. I make lists to help me prioritize my seconds, but I find I avoid some items on my list for no particular reason. Why? I am taking a class next week on creativity and just learned about James Clear who wrote a book on building habits: Atomic Habits, he titled his book. Do you know it? I hope to become better in managing my seconds.
Fascinating stuff, dear friend. I think it will take a bit of time and rereading for it to sink in.
But I wonder... If we knew then what we know now, wouldn't that automatically make us different than who we were then? Wouldn't that knowledge have changed us?
Right, you said that with a mouthful ;) The moment's here and gone, and it is what it is because of what it was; no regrets, seize the day! And then watch it slip through your fingers. Let's embrace who we are now because what else is there? There's more to enjoy and marvel at in every second than we can possibly know.
I'm giving my inner child a big hug and putting her to bed with the knowledge that she was all she ever needed to perfectly live her life, and it's been just right in all it's awkward perfection 🥰

Food for thought.
Chomp.
